Road Trip - Travel to Mont Tremblant

Last night was super cold, so we slept with all the bedding that we own, and all the tent's windows closed. While this made the tent a bit warmer, it resulted in lots of condensation on all the inside walls.

Today we spend most of the day driving between Algonquin and Mont Tremblant in Quebec. Most of the time we were driving through rural areas and tiny towns, corn fields and forest. We had a quick detour through a place called Killaloe which was signposted as the birthplace of the BeaverTail (a flat deepfried doughnut-like bread, a Canadian delicacy), but the only obvious BeaverTail shop was closed so we drove on.

We stopped in Ottawa for lunch, and to buy another blanket at IKEA. Last time we visited Ottawa it was freezing cold, so we had a stroll around to see Byward Market and the locks on the Rideau Canal at a more leisurely pace. No boats were using the locks while we were there though, which was a bit disappointing, but at least they weren't frozen!

There's a big rain storm forecast for where we're staying tonight, so we are procrastinating at a Starbucks about half an hour away from our campground. This is just delaying the inevitable though, as it's going to be raining all night and all day tomorrow.

Update @ 7pm EDT:

We've just discovered that we made a mistake with our campground reservation, and we're a day early! I think what happened was we booked our first set of nights at Algonquin based on the fact that we were leaving Toronto on the 31st of August, but then made a mistake when we entered that booking into our planning spreadsheet. The spreadsheet starts on September the 1st, so we just put Algonquin in the first three slots. Whoops!

It's not a terrible situation though, as we've found a reasonably priced hotel nearby, and this means we don't have to deal with a soaking wet tent in the morning! Also, we'd originally planned to spend only one night here, so now we get a full day to explore Mont Tremblant!
